A hybrid shrub with fragrant white flower clusters in late spring and dark green leaves. It is a cross between V. carlesii and V. bitchiuense, and was introduced by William H. Judd at the Arnold Arboretum in 1920. It grows with an upright rounded habit. It has a great fall color with shades of red and purple, and is adaptable to many soil types. Deer and drought tolerant.
