Its frazzled inky leaves are a delectable deviation from typical greenery of the garden and its columnar habit sends it rising over the landscape like an obsidian tower. Its regal presence is broken only by the occasional subtle sprays of pink flower that blooms beautifully in the summer. This easy to care for shrub is also disease and pest resistant. It does best in full sun and is the perfect pairing of light-colored flowers and dark foliage.
