Was found as a broom on a red Japanese maple and introduced by Skeeter Rodd, this Japanese maple is unique in that it is a larger growing Japanese maple with a dense compact habit and a narrow garden footprint. The 'Skeeter's Broom' Japanese maple leafs out as a bright red before maturing to a maroon. Fall colors are a bright fire engine red. Slow-moderate growing
